The Sanitation Districts clean the wastewater of over 5 million people and turn it into resources 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Through the operation of 11 wastewater treatment facilities, approximately 510 million gallons per day (MGD) of wastewater are treated at these facilities and 165 MGD are available for reuse. All of the water reclamation plants (WRPs) are strategically located throughout the County to maximize water reuse and to easily return the cleaned water to local waterways, storage reservoirs, or the Pacific Ocean.

The wastewater treatment capacities at these facilities range from 0.2 MGD at the La Cañada WRP to 400 MGD at the A.K. Warren Water Resource Facility (formerly known as Joint Water Pollution Control Plant or JWPCP). The San Jose Creek WRP is the largest of the WRPs and can treat a capacity of 100 MGD. The map below shows the Sanitation Districts' wastewater systems.
