Joint Administration Agreement
The Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County consist of 24 independent special districts that provide wastewater and solid waste management service for 5.6 million people in Los Angeles County. The Joint Administration Agreement creates cost efficiencies for these districts through a single, shared staff and collective buying power.

Amended Joint Outfall Agreement
The major wastewater collection, treatment and disposal system that serves the Los Angeles basin is known as the Joint Outfall System. The Amended Joint Outfall Agreement provides for the joint ownership/operation of this system with costs shared among the 17 signatory Sanitation Districts.

Solid Waste Management System Agreement
Fifteen Sanitation Districts entered into a Solid Waste Management System Agreement ("System Agreement") in 1970. Under this Agreement, the signatory Sanitation Districts jointly own solid waste management facilities and equipment. These facilities include landfills and materials recovery facilities. An addendum was executed in 2007.
