06/29/2020 - Testing Sewage for Coronavirus
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sanitation Districts have developed a test to detect the novel coronavirus in wastewater (sewage). The data collected from this test may be useful in identifying trends of infection in the community and could help provide an early warning of the next wave of COVID-19. While the wastewater going into our plants has detectable amounts of coronavirus genetic material, the virus has not been found in the cleaned water produced by our plants. This is consistent with the State’s earlier declaration that disinfection at treatment plants is effective in killing the novel coronavirus.

06/18/2020 - New COVID-19 Wastewater Rebate
Under a newly launched program, businesses that pay for Sanitation District sewer service on their property tax bill may qualify for a rebate if the business had reduced wastewater (sewage) discharges due to COVID-19.
