Notice to Contractors - Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts Elects to Become Subject to the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCAA)

By adopted resolutions of all 24 boards, the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts (Districts) has elected to become subject to the CUPCCAA Procedures.

In accordance with Public Contract Code 22034, the Districts has elected to mail, fax, or email a notice inviting informal bids to the trade journals specified in Section 22036 for Los Angeles County:

Pursuant to SB 854/96, no contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid or awarded a contract for public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) per California Labor Code Section 1725.5. Additionally, contractors may register with the Districts by visiting our Vendor Registration.

The Sanitation Districts encourage participation in its contracting by all members of the community including Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Women Business Enterprises (WBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE), Disabled Veterans Business Enterprises (DVBE), and Small Business Enterprises (SBE). The Sanitation Districts have established an aspiration goal of 20 percent overall participation by such firms. Although such participation is encouraged, award of a contract is not based on race, gender, disabled, disadvantaged, or small business status.
