Joint Outfall D Unit 5 Main Reach LawndaleWhat is this project?
This project involves repairing approximately 1,820 feet of sewer in the City of Lawndale and Unincorporated Los Angeles County. The Districts will rehabilitate the sewer with a pipe lining system, which can be installed inside the old pipe. Repairing by lining will be less disruptive and is quicker than building a new sewer. The Districts will also repair manholes associated with this sewer.

Why is this project needed?
The existing sewer pipe is approximately 70 years old and has deteriorated over time due to normal wear and age.

Where is the work taking place?
Construction will take place in Alondra Park, continues north across Manhattan Beach Boulevard through private properties and ends approximately 150 feet east of the intersection of 154th Street and Yukon Avenue in the City of Lawndale and Unincorporated Los Angeles County as shown on the map on the right.

When is the project scheduled?
Construction is tentatively scheduled to take place between November 2023 and April 2024. The Districts have selected SAK Construction Inc. as the contractor, and they will provide residents with additional notification for working days and hours.

What can you expect?
While some inconveniences are inevitable, the contractor will make every effort to minimize any inconvenience. For your safety, the Districts recommend the public, and especially children, to stay away from the construction zone.

Your understanding and cooperation regarding this vital project are greatly appreciated.
