NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that requests for proposals will be received by the Purchasing Agent of the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts for CARBON REGENERATION SERVICES.

DESCRIPTION: The Districts are currently soliciting bids from suppliers to provide carbon regeneration services.  Granular Vapor Phase Activated Carbon (VPAC) used by the Districts is primarily derived from coconut shell.  VPAC is used at the A.K. Warren Water Resource Facility (Warren Facility) and throughout the Wastewater Collection System (WCS) because of its superior adsorption capacity to remove volatile organic and odor-causing compounds from foul air and gases generated in wastewater collection and treatment facilities, including hydrogen sulfide, organic sulfur compounds, and benzene.  The Districts require carbon regeneration services using thermal reactivation for “spent” carbon – used VPAC that has lost its adsorption capacity – removed from service.  Reactivated carbon is returned to the carbon stock for reuse by the Districts.

Any questions regarding this bid must be directed per the instructions listed within the bid package.
