Fifth Grade Water Education Program
Learn all about water through this hands-on classroom program conducted in partnership with the Youth Science Center in Hacienda Heights and other sponsors including Bentley Prince Street and Rowland Water District. The program builds students’ knowledge during three 50-minute lessons using interactive exercises designed to create awareness and problem-solving skills. Students learn about: forms water can take; the water cycle; scarcity of water and sources for Southern California; conservation; treatment and testing. Some classes will conclude the program with a field trip to one of the Sanitation Districts water reclamation plants.
The program is open to schools in Hacienda Heights, Rowland Heights, La Puente, El Monte, and surrounding areas. To sign up for the program, please contact the Youth Science Center.
