Core Monitoring

Core monitoring is designed to assess potential effects of JWPCP discharge on environmental quality and track trends in environmental conditions over time. This portion of our monitoring program is focused on the coastal environment near our White Point discharge off the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The core receiving water monitoring program assesses potential impacts of the discharge on coastal water quality, bacteria, benthic sediments, bottom fish and invertebrates, and fish tissue contamination. The executive summary, introduction, specific objectives, design, and results of these monitoring efforts are detailed in the JWPCP Biennial Receiving Water Monitoring Report.
